Supplementary Task II

One website I find helpful for Peer Tutoring Info is a university's page on peer tutoring tips found here.

Though this page is aimed at university students working one-on-one with other university students, I think many of tips are useful for peer tutors and that many of the same base principles apply for all peer tutors.

I like this page more than others and find it more useful because it uses a step-by-step approach. For example, it aims first to 'establish environment' and then second to 'build rapport' between tutor and tutee... and then continues through the steps to help build a positive relationship between tutor and tutee.

I think the information on the site is especially useful for when I am helping a student one-on-one with their work more than it is when I am working with bigger groups. For example, it gives useful advice such as bouncing questions back at the tutee and to ask effective questions which are carefully planned.

This page is a great place to start when peer tutoring to get simple ideas on how to be an effective and helpful peer tutor when working one-on-one.
