So here we are again with less then a month left of school. The semester is not even done yet and I'm already satisfied with all the work that has been done by students and how much students improved in their learning skills. Students in my applied history class started off not caring about the course, never doing homework, talking all they want, and just not focusing at all about the course. Then i look now and see everyone working hard on their assignments, 95 percent of the class getting homework done on a daily basis, and even better attendance. My most satisfying experience as a peer tutor is the way I encouraged and motivated students in the class on their classroom skills. Everyday I would have to talk to individuals and let them know the potential they had and what would happen if they did their homework everyday. Now i step into a class where every ones book open and prepared for any pop quiz or assignment that is due the next week. I am satisfied that my hard work of encouraging the kids has paid off and me not needing to talk to anyone for any bad reason.
Miss Codette has a huge sense of humour and is used mostly everyday when she was in class. If there was a question on a test and a student needed help she would use humour or a everyday situation to help solve the question. Like one time when Miss Codette asked a question and everyone sat there clueless and sleepy since it was first period. So she made a deal and said the person who answers this question correctly gets a pack of smarties. So everyone woke up and started to look all over their notes for the answer. After everyone looked deeply in their binder and tried their hardest to get the question, nine out of the 14 people got the answer right. Those nine people all waited for their 9am smarties box, until she said just kidding no smarties box for any of you cause bribing doesn't work in the class. After everyone was mad the next day she actually bought them smarties.
