Hey everybody! I am the peer-tutor of Ms. Carrier's grade 9 dance class. I have been a part of the many great events that has occurred within the classroom during the semester. Being the peer-tutor of a dance class has given me many opportunities to grow and mature. It has taught me many different skills, such as leadership, patience and co-operation. It has also taught me to become a better role model. I have developed many great friendships with the students and as well as Ms. Carrier, we are all able to easily communicate with one another.
As a dance peer-tutor, I have found that most experiences that I've encountered has been satisfying. Although, if I had to pick one set of events, it would have to be teaching the class on y own when Ms. Carrier's away. I have chosen those events because having to teach the class on my own allows me to actually experience what it is like to be a real teacher, just without the title. It also allows me to expand my leadership skills, as well as build my confidence of being in front of big crowds.

Humour is a big part of our class, there isn't a day that we don't use humour! During our "cleaning" days, it gets pretty tough and tiring! So, to reduce stress from it, Ms. Carrier jokes around with them during the breaks in between pieces. There aren't any specific humour techniques that we use in the classroom but we all know when to joke and when to be serious. Ms. Carrier is a very fun and energetic person, therefore she doesn't like her students to stress because it may effect their performance. Her teaching skills are VERY effective! :)
